UBUNTU-INSPIRED DISCIPLINE: RESTORING LEARNER BEHAVIOUR IN TSHWANE WEST DISTRICT SECONDARY SCHOOLS
This study explores the potential of Ubuntu-inspired discipline to address learner behaviour in Tshwane West District secondary schools. It responds to the growing need for alternative disciplinary measures as current approaches have proven ineffective in curbing violent and disruptive behaviours among learners. Employing a qualitative ethnographic research design, the study examines the influence of cultural values on learner behaviour. Data were collected through observations, individual interviews, and group interviews with learners and teachers from eight purposefully selected schools.
