Why Embedded Systems are failing to Thrive in West African Universities and Research Labs.
In this paper, I discuss why, regardless of of their significance, embedded systems haven't been able to expand in West African research labs and universities. I examine the actual problems impacting students, instructors, and institutions, such as out-of-date curricula, inadequate funding, and restricted access to hardware tools. I also offer doable solutions, such as creating regional innovation hubs, retraining instructors, and lowering the cost of hardware. My personal observations, my love of embedded systems, and my sense of hope for improved tech education in our area are the foundations of this work.
