APPLICATION OF IOT IN MONITORING AND CONTROLLING SOLAR POWER SYSTEMS IN VIETNAM

Abstract New energy applications, particularly solar energy, have been and are being actively implemented in Vietnam and around the world. The demand for solar energy supply for systems that require moderate and small amounts of energy but need high efficiency such as applications in electricity systems, daily life, and industry is essential. However, solar energy systems face a significant issue: if the panels are installed in a fixed position, they can only achieve maximum power output during a few peak hours of the day, resulting in low efficiency. In this paper, we utilize Internet of Things (IoT) technology to study a tracking system for solar panels, which can be monitored via a smartphone app through the Internet and can adjust the orientation of the panels according to the sun's movement throughout the day to achieve high energy conversion efficiency.
