XAI Renaissance: Self-Reflection Loop as the Foundation of Real Explainability
XAI Renaissance: Self-Reflection Loop as the Foundation of Real ExplainabilityThis whitepaper introduces the Self-Reflection Loop (SRL), a novel cognitive architecture designed to enable AI systems to understand their own decision-making processes. In contrast to traditional XAI methods, which provide post-hoc rationalizations or external proxies, SRL integrates self-awareness mechanisms within the model itself. Through internal imprints, memory of decisions, and simulation-based reflection, SRL allows AI to recognize, analyze, and adapt to its own past behavior. This work proposes a shift from explainability as observation to explainability as comprehension — offering a new foundation for building responsible, self-aware AI.
