DISPOSITIVO DE PROTEÇÃO CONTRA DESBALANCEAMENTO DE CORRENTE EM MOTORES DE INDUÇÃO TRIFÁSICOS

Three-phase induction motors are widely used in industry for driving various processes. For it to work properly, it is necessary to protect them from failures that can lead to permanent damage. The most common problems are electric current unbalance, phase loss and overload, which can cause deterioration of the insulation of the coils and even the motor burnout. The current protection devices, such as phase fault relays, are not able to identify faults after the point at which they are installed and this fact can be decisive for the effectiveness of the protection. This work proposes an electronic protection device that detects unbalances, phase loss and overload, regardless of the location of the device's installation, since it is based on the reading of the electric current values in the phases, ensuring effective results. The developed device achieved the expected results, interrupting the operation of the engine at the time of the fault occurrence.
