DEVELOPMENT OF LCD/LED CONTENTS FOR TELEVISION MODULE OF RTVEW CURRICULUM IN TECHNICAL COLLEGES IN NIGERIA
This study developed new LCD/LED television contents for television module in RTVEW curriculum for technical colleges in Nigeria, in order to address the gap in current television module that failed to cover modern television technologies. Two objectives and research questions respectively guided the study. The study adapted a research and development (R&D) design, The population of the study consisted of 368 subject matters experts (SMEs) in Bauchi State. 165 respondents were purposively and randomly sampled. A module’s questionnaire was used for the data collection, and the instrument was subjected to face and content validation by three experts. The reliability coefficient of the instrument was 0.98 using Cronbach’s Alpha method. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions. Findings from the study revealed that nine objectives were appropriate for the LCD/LED TV module and Sixteen clusters of content areas were appropriate for the LCD/LED TV module. The study recommends among others that National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) should consider integrating LCD/LED television contents into the Radio Television and Electronic Works (RTVEW) curriculum of technical colleges in Nigeria to keep the students up to date with emerging technologies in television.
