Intelligenza artificiale, protezione dei dati ed innovazione: bilanciamento dei diritti e politiche di condivisione dei dati nel contesto dell'European Data Strategy

Abstract: The topic firstly concerns the relationship between AI and the right to data protection, by considering the rules of the GDPR from the point of view of innovative processes. One of the main issues at stake is data accessibility, which is fundamental for the development of AI systems, and requires a balance between individuals' interests (the protection of personal data) and public interests (the promotion of innovation, data sharing, and, e.g., in the context of scientific research, data access for benefit of all). The presentation will focus on the EU legal framework by taking into account the perspectives of the European Data Strategy and the new and various solutions proposed by the legislator (data altruism, the creation of data spaces, with particular attention to the European Health Data Space).
