Illustrated postcards in the socio-cultural activities of scientific libraries of the Republic of Belarus

The article presents an analysis of the experience of using illustrated postcards in the socio-cultural activities of scientific libraries of the Republic ofBelarus. In the course of the study, the websites of scientific libraries were studied, and the experience of introducing illustrated postcards into the socio-cultural activitiesof the Belarusian Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was described. The analysis of the experience of scientific libraries of the Republic ofBelarus showed that the use of postcards has potential in various types of sociocultural activities: postcard exhibitions, publishing activities, electronic projects andpresentations, participation in campaigns for the purpose of sending postcards to relatives; Postcrossing meetups at the library; making handmade postcards;congratulations to colleagues and other organizations on professional holidays. Thus, the use of illustrated postcards in the socio-cultural activities of libraries can not onlybring new forms of interaction with users and visitors of the library, but also attract a new audience to the library, for example, postcrossers and philocartists.
