Thiratoscirtus gimoi Haddad, Wiśniewski & Wesołowska, 2024, sp. nov.

Thiratoscirtus gimoi sp. nov. Fig. 50 Diagnosis. The habitus of this species is similar to that in Thiratoscirtus clarus sp. nov., but the epigyne is clearly different (compare Fig. 50C with Fig. 49B). The internal structure of the epigyne of T. gimoi sp. nov. is similar to that in T. mastigophorus Wiśniewski & Wesołowska, 2013, but these species can be easily distinguished by the shape of the posterior border of epigyne (V-shaped in T. mastigophorus vs straight in T. gimoi sp. nov.; compare Fig. 50C, D with figs 11, 12 in Wiśniewski & Wesołowska, 2013). Male unknown. Etymology. This species is named for Gimo Daniel, entomologist at the National Museum in Bloemfontein, who collected the type specimens. Type material. Holotype ♀, MOZAMBIQUE: Zambezia: Mount Mabu, Transect 6, 16°16’38’’S, 36°22’45’’E, 16–19.IV.2022, leg. G.M. Daniel (pitfall traps, Afromontane forest) (NMBA 19056). Paratype: 1♀, together with holotype. The abdomens of both specimens are damaged. Description. Female: Measurements. Cephalothorax length 2.5, width 1.7, height 1.3. Abdomen length ca 3.4. Eye field length 1.1, anterior width 1.6, posterior width 1.5. General appearance as in Fig. 50A. Carapace oval, yellowish-brown, eye field dark brown, eyes with black rings. Some transparent hairs on anterior part of eye field, long bristles near anterior row of eyes. Clypeus yellow. Chelicerae light brown, unidentati. Labium, endites and sternum yellow. Abdomen damaged, yellowish, covered with brown hairs, darker and denser posteriorly, traces of two pairs of whitish round patches at the end of abdomen. Venter yellow. Spinnerets grey. Legs yellowish-brown, leg hairs and spines brown. First pair with four pairs of ventral spines on tibia and two pairs on metatarsus (Fig. 50B). Palps yellow, with single macroseta on tarsus placed retrolaterally (Fig. 50B). Epigyne with wide posterior pocket and central depression in shape of inverted heart (Fig. 50C, D). Copulatory openings placed laterally, their lips strongly sclerotized, spermathecae globular, thick-walled, with accessory glands (Fig. 50E, F). Distribution. Only known from the type locality.
