Cyrtandra didissandriformis Merr., J. Malayan Branch Roy. Asiat. Soc. 1: 33 (1923); Burtt, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 30: 26 (1970); Beaman et al., Pl. Mt. Kinabalu 4: 370 (2001). – Type: MALAYSIA. British North Borneo [Sabah], Sandakan and vicinity, Ramos 1458 (lectotype K [K000831560], designated here; isolectotypes L [L0931131], P [P03884337], US [US 00126243]). Distribution. Sabah (Merrill, 1923a; Burtt, 1970; Beaman et al., 2001). Notes. This name was synonymised under Cyrtandra areolata when that name was first recombined in Cyrtandra (Burtt, 1970) but was later treated as a distinct species by Beaman et al. (2001). The new circumscriptions were supported by Hilliard and Burtt based on annotated specimens in the E herbarium (Atkins, personal observation). Merrill (1923a) did not specify a herbarium when selecting a type for this species. The sheet in K is chosen here as the lectotype as it has both fruits and a flower and a good length of stem, showing the position of the inflorescences. Cyrtandra digitaliflora B.L.Burtt, Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 30: 28 (1970); Burtt in Coode et al., Checkl. Fl. Pl. Gymnosperms Brunei Darussalam: 133 (1997 [‘1996’]). – Type: MALAYSIA. Sarawak, Fourth division, Gunung Mulu, c. 4500 ft [1200–1300 m], 14 vi 1962, Burtt & Woods B2098 (holotype E [E00062489] and spirit [E00743625, E00743627]; isotypes K [K000939035], L [L.4418412], SAR). Distribution. Sarawak (Burtt, 1970); Brunei (Burtt, 1997).
