Publish Summarized evaluation reports of clinical trial applications

This document outlines efforts under the ACCESSAFRICA 2 project to enhance transparency and accessibility of clinical trial oversight in East Africa. Led by Uganda’s National Drug Authority (NDA), the initiative supported the adoption of the AVAREF evaluation template to generate and publicly share structured summaries of clinical trial assessments. This practice, now mandated by Uganda's revised 2024 clinical trial regulations, helps inform researchers and the public by summarizing key findings and regulatory decisions. The document provides a sample summary for a trial evaluating reduced doses of flucytosine for treating cryptococcal meningitis, demonstrating the structured, evidence-based approach to balancing trial efficacy, safety, and access.
