Myrmeleon hyalinus subsp. distinguendus Rambur 1842

Myrmeleon hyalinus distinguendus Rambur, 1842 Myrmeleon distinguendus Rambur, 1842: 407. Type locality: Spain (Andalucía: Málaga). World distribution: Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Malta, Spain, Turkey [not India] (Hölzel 1986: 81; Canbulat 2007: 46; El Hamouly & Fadl 2011: 94; Oswald 2024a). Note: Chandra & Sharma (2010: 17) included this subspecies in their informal Indian list without comment or specimen citations. India is located considerably east of the easternmost verified records of this subspecies in Turkey. We exclude this taxon from the Indian fauna pending the identification and publication of verifiable specimen records of its presence.
