Enhanced Dynamic Response of Grid-Connected PV Systems Using Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Control
In recent years, the integration of renewable energy sources has been growing steadily, with the goal of decreasing dependence on fossil fuels for electricity generation. Photovoltaic systems are favored in both remote and urban areas with adequate sunlight. The use of Photovoltaic (PV) is on the rise due to increasing fuel prices and technological advancements that have significantly lowered manufacturing costs. This paper introduces a comprehensive controller design for single-phase, single-stage grid-connected PV systems. The performance of the proposed controller is evaluated through both simulation and experimental methods. A single-phase H-bridge inverter is used to connect the system to the grid, with the inverter control scheme consisting of two primary loops: DC-link voltage (DLV) and current control. The DLV control employs a PI controller, a fuzzy logic controller (FLC), and an adaptive fuzzy logic controller (AFLC) to improve the dynamic response of the DLV without the need for a feed-forward signal from the DC side, reducing the number of sensors required for supplying DC loads in rectifying mode
