The Poetry of C.L Khatri: A Critique
This research paper peeps into the poetry of C.L. Khatri who, with his four poetry collections—Kargil, Ripples in the Lake, Two-Minute Silence and For You to Decide, has emerged as a significant poet by virtue of his Indian themes, inbuilt irony, sparkling wit, and fusion of idea with feelings. The poet in Khatri makes the reader realise the very essence of India and her culture. The poet in him asks women to fight against any kind of exploitation and oppression, worries over the British hangover, sees the deterioration of moral values, finds some meanings of life even in the world of Nature, and joyfully wishes to sing the songs of human values. He wishes to become the messenger of Indian culture, rooted in love and peace.
