UNIFIED SECURITY MODELS ACROSS FRONTEND, API, AND INFRASTRUCTURE LAYERS IN CLOUD-NATIVE SYSTEMS

Cloud-native systems, characterized by their use of microservices architecture, containerization, and dynamicscaling, provide substantial benefits, such as flexibility, scalability, and efficiency. However, these systemsintroduce complex security challenges, as traditional security measures often fail to meet the demands of sucharchitectures. A cohesive, unified security model is necessary to protect data, enforce policies, and mitigate threatsacross all layers of cloud-native systems, from the frontend to the API and infrastructure layers. This paperpresents a unified security model, highlighting the importance of aligning security controls across these layers, including Content Security Policy (CSP) headers for frontend security, secure API token management, firewallrules, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies for infrastructure security. By incorporating thesemeasures, organizations can ensure robust protection while maintaining system scalability. The paper also delvesinto automation, continuous monitoring, and the integration of AI and machine learning to further strengthensecurity in dynamic cloud-native environments. Through case studies and real-world examples, the proposedframework demonstrates how unified security practices can reduce vulnerabilities, simplify compliance, andenhance system resilience against evolving threats.
