Canvis temporals en les comunitats de mol·luscs terrestres després d'un incendi forestal al Parc Natural de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac

Temporal changes in terrestrial mollusc communities after a forest fire in the Sant Llorençdel Munt i l’Obac Natural Park.-We measured the abundance and diversity of terrestrial mollusks four years (short-term) and eighteenyears (long-term) since a forest fire occurred at Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park in summer2003. We also analyzed the influence of five postfire treatments on the snail diversity. In the long term, species diversity increased and community composition diversified, regardless of forest treatments. Onthe other hand, the total abundance of mollusks was significantly lower eighteen than four years afterthe fire. Over time, postfire changes in the habitat (e.g. increase in plant cover and leaf litter on the ground)have shaped changes in the diversity and abundance of the terrestrial gastropod community.
