EVALUATING THE LONG-TERM EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF BIOLOGIC AND TARGETED SMALL MOLECULE THERAPIES IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY SKIN DISEASES INCLUDING PSORIASIS, ATOPIC DERMATITIS, AND HIDRADENITIS SUPPURATIVA
Chronic inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (AD), and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), significantly affect patient quality of life. Over the last two decades, biologic therapies and targeted small molecules have revolutionized treatment by providing enhanced efficacy and durability compared to conventional immunosuppressants. However, long-term safety remains a critical concern. This paper reviews the literature on the long-term efficacy and safety of biologics and targeted therapies, analyzing their benefits, potential adverse effects, and comparative effectiveness. Additionally, the paper highlights clinical trials, real-world evidence, and safety data to assess their role in sustained disease control.
