Johnsonomyia Felt 1908

Genus Johnsonomyia Felt, 1908 This genus previously had nine species, three Nearctic, one Palearctic, one Neotropical, two Afrotropical, and two Oriental (Jaschhof 2016b). The Palearctic J. palpata Mamaev, 1966, was until now the only species known from Europe (Spungis 1985). A new Johnsonomyia close to J. palpata is described here from Bavaria, representing the westernmost occurrence of this genus in Europe and the Palearctic region.
