TESS observations of the ZZ Ceti star WD 1310+583
WD 1310+583 is a bright (G=14.1 mag) ZZ Ceti star; its light variations were discovered just before the launch of the TESS space telescope. TESS collected data both in 120-second short-cadence mode (7 sectors), and in 20-second ultra-short-cadence mode (4 sectors) on this white dwarf. The light curve analysis of the observations from different sectors revealed numerous candidate pulsation modes for the star, and we can find several closely spaced frequencies ("forest of peaks") above about 700 s. For producing our period list, we calculated the amplitude-weighted periods of the peaks detected at similar frequencies in different sectors. The final list of observed periods consists of more than a dozen independent modes. Therefore, WD 1310+583 is a ZZ Ceti star rich in pulsation modes, which means strong constraints for the future asteroseismic modeling of the star.
