Granulomatous Mastitis; A Diagnostic Burden in the Breast Clinic
This case report aims to highlight both the varied clinical presentation/challenges of diagnosis as well as the challenges of choosing from the options of management for granulomatous mastitis. One of the cases was initially thought to be a breast abscess while the other was thought to be a benign breast lesion, with both ultimately diagnosed as granulomatous mastitis after several sets of investigations, visits to the breast specialist and discussions at the breast MDT. Corynebacterium specie being implicated like in some of the literature reviews. Treatment of the cases highlighted were predominantly conservative, with satisfactory patient outcomes
