DESIGNING FOR ACCESSIBILITY: CREATING INCLUSIVE SPACES FOR ALL
As the global population exceeds 650 million individuals with disabilities, accessibility in architecture has emerged as a cornerstone of equitable and sustainable design. This paper explores the integration of Universal Design Principles and Inclusive Design Principles in creating environments that are not only functional but also welcoming for a diverse range of users. Universal Design emphasizes inherent accessibility through adaptable, intuitive, and barrier-free solutions, while Inclusive Design prioritizes addressing specific needs by involving marginalized groups in the design process.
