The Breathing Universe Model: 101_ A New Approach to Cosmology and Physics
The Breathing Universe Model (BUM) proposes a reinterpretation of spacetime as a dynamic vacuum-tension field rather than a static geometric background. In this framework, the traditional constant c2c^2c2 is generalized into a time-dependent field H(t)H(t)H(t), representing the oscillatory balance between expansive and contractive components of vacuum acceleration. Mass, energy, curvature, and temporal flow emerge as coupled expressions of this single breathing field, governed by the generalized conservation law E=m H(t)E = m\,H(t)E=mH(t). Instead of a singular Big Bang or irreversible expansion, the model describes cosmogenesis as a process of tension accumulation and release, allowing for cyclic or quasi-cyclic evolution without singularities. The apparent arrow of time arises from phase asymmetries and entropy growth within an otherwise reversible field equation. Dark energy and dark matter are reinterpreted as complementary regimes of vacuum tension storage and release, eliminating the need for independent exotic components. This foundational paper establishes the conceptual and mathematical basis of the Breathing Universe program, introducing key notions such as nested snapping, equilibrium zero-lines, and field-based relativity. Subsequent works extend these ideas toward time-crystal phases, particle emergence, temporal topology, and observational signatures. While speculative, the model is constructed to reduce continuously to ΛCDM in the limit of vanishing oscillation amplitude, ensuring empirical continuity and falsifiability.
