IMPACTUL DISPOZITIVELOR ELECTRONICE ASUPRA CALITĂȚII SOMNULUI ÎN RÂNDUL TINERILOR
Summary. Sleep is essential for brain and body health, influencing both physical and mental well-being. In adults, 7-8 hours of sleep are necessary for optimal functioning, and insufficient sleep can lead to fatigue and cognitive problems. Sleep is divided into two stages: REM and non-REM, with REM sleep responsible for memory regeneration and consolidation. Melatonin plays an important role in the circadian rhythm. Exposure to artificial light, especially electronic devices, affects the circadian rhythm, which disrupts sleep quality and contributes to long-term health problems. Excessive use of digital technology before bed can reduce sleep quality, leading to cognitive and emotional problems. In the Republic of Moldova, the impact of electronic devices on sleep patterns is not different from the global scenario, especially since the younger generation is more prone to sleep disorders due to the excessive use of mobile devices.Key words: sleep, melatonin, technology, insomnia, circadian rhythm, quality of sleep, electronic devices.
