Gasification Technologies: Transforming Waste into Clean Energy

Abstract: Gasification is an innovative thermal process that converts organic and fossil-based materials into syngas, primarily composed of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. This technology has gained traction globally as a sustainable energy solution with applications in power generation, chemical production, and waste management. Despite its advantages, gasification faces significant challenges, including high capital costs, feedstock variability, technical complexity, and regulatory barriers. This article explores the gasification process, its benefits, current applications, and the hurdles that must be overcome to realize its full potential as a key player in the transition to cleaner energy.
