ERROR ANALYSIS OF PRESENT PERFECT TENSE USAGE IN ESSAY WRITING AMONG SECOND LANGUAGE LEARNERS

This study intends to investigate the main reasons of errors in the present perfect tense, and to give the solution for students to write error-free essays. Fifty students were taken to conduct this study. The researcher used the mixed method approach to collect data through the quantitative and qualitative methods, by conducting tests and interviews. And the data was collected, analyzed using MS Excel, and presented a descriptive analysis. According to this survey, the researchers found out several causes of errors in writing essays, such as mother tongue interference, overgeneralization, error encouraged by teaching material or method, etc. Based on these findings, the researchers recommended measures to overcome the errors and to make students aware and understand by different and easy techniques to fulfill their target and objectives, to give them proper guidance and good practice ways of writing essays without errors
