Examining the Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research

Desirable characteristics of repositories for managing and sharing data resulting from federally funded or supported research are described in the OSTP Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research document and are also referred to in Appendix D of SPD-41a. While this guidance is not a mandatory requirement, demonstrating alignment with these characteristics is a good practice that should be developed. This session will describe the desirable characteristics recommendations and will work to develop metrics or other assessment methodologies to demonstrate alignment of the SMD repositories.
