Impact of public health expenditure on health outcomes across seven states of India

This study evaluates the impact of public health expenditure on infant mortality and life expectancy rates across seven Indian states. The research study aims to figure out the correlation between public health expenditure and health outcomes in the form of infant mortality rate and life expectancy rate. The analysis reveals a strong positive correlation between public health expenditure and life expectancy rates, indicating that increased investment in public health significantly enhances the average life span of the people in the seven selected states of India. On the other hand, a strong negative correlation is witnessed between public health expenditure and infant mortality rates in these states. It indicates government spending on health effectively reduces the infant mortality rate. The findings of this study emphasize the key role of public health expenditure in improving overall health outcomes. The analysis of data indicates significant improvements in life expectancy rates have been seen in the states with increased government health spending, along with a remarkable reduction in infant mortality rates. These findings suggest that improvement in health outcomes can be achieved by the sustained and targeted public health expenditure in India. The sustained gain in health outcome leads to sustainable development of the country with the help of a healthy, efficient, and productive workforce.
