BİOACOUSTİC GREEN WALL: A NEW APPROACH TO SOLVİNG URBAN ENVİRONMENTAL PROBLEMS
Abstract Climate change, atmospheric pollution, urbanization and environmental degradation are among the most pressing problems of the 21st century. As a result of rapidly increasing industrialization and population density, the increase in the level of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the atmosphere, the concentration of harmful particles (PM10, PM2.5), noise pollution and the loss of visual aesthetics pose serious threats to human health and environmental balance. In such a situation, ecological sustainability and technological solutions compatible with the bioenvironment are of great importance. One of the projects aimed at solving these problems is the “BioAcoustic Green Wall” project. The project was presented as an innovative ecological system that can be applied in an urban environment. The main goal of the project is to absorb CO₂ gas in the air, increase oxygen (O₂) emission, filter harmful dust particles such as PM10 and PM2.5, reduce noise pollution in the environment and give an aesthetic appearance to the environment. One of the distinguishing features of the system is that it works with solar energy. This feature makes it an energy-self-sufficient and environmentally friendly structure. The plants used in the project absorb CO₂ through the process of photosynthesis and release oxygen, acoustic panels attenuate sound, and special structures purify the air by trapping dust particles. This article presents in detail the project's implementation methods, the technologies used, the results obtained, and their scientific justification. The goal is to promote the application of such projects in urban ecosystems and to pave the way for larger-scale environmental programs in the future.
