Strategies In Overcoming Drug Resistances in H. Pylori Infection
A major global health concern, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infections are linked to a number of gastrointestinal disorders, including gastric cancer and peptic ulcer disease. Higher eradication failure rates have resulted from treatment strategies becoming more complex due to the growing prevalence of antibiotic resistance in H. pylori. The mechanisms of drug resistance in H. pylori are examined in this review, including biofilm formation, horizontal gene transfer, efflux pumps, and chromosomal mutations. Additionally, new approaches to treating resistance are explored, including customized therapy, drug delivery based on nanotechnology, and alternative treatment modalities. Combining targeted therapies with molecular diagnostics has the potential to enhance treatment results and reduce the emergence of resistance. Research, monitoring, and the creation of novel treatment approaches are all necessary to combat H. pylori resistance.
