FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF TOPICAL ETHOSOMAL GEL CONTAINING BIFONAZOLE FOR TRANSDERMAL DRUG DELIVERY
Bifonazole ethosomal gel was prepared by phospholipid (soya lecithin), ethanol and propylene glycol using hot method by incorporating ethosomal formulation into 1% w/v of carbopol gel which leads to ethosomal gel. Drug compatibility with excipients was checked by FT-IR and DSC studies. The prepared ethosomal gel was evaluated for pH, spreadability, viscosity, Drug entrapment efficacy and in-vitro drug release. Stability study of the formulation was done at room temperaturefor the period of 3 months. Drug-polymer compatibility studies showed no incompatibility between the drug and phospholipid. The F8 formulation showed more entrapment efficacy and highest in vitro drug release.
