Chemical Properties of M dwarfs: Tracking from Galactic Archaeology to Planet Formation
We present the details of an oral talk given by the first author in the splinter session, "The Buddy System: Utilizing the Wealth of Host Star Data to Inform Substellar Physics", as part of Cool Stars 22 that was held in San Diego, on June 25, 2024. The presentation included several analyses regarding the physical parameters and chemical abundances of M dwarfs and their importance in studies of the Galactic chemical evolution and exoplanet formation. The content of this talk motivates further observations and in-depth investigations of M dwarfs to better characterize these low-mass stars, which can provide invaluable insights into the evolution of our Galaxy and the formation pathway of planetary systems.
