Libraries in a Changing World

We find ourselves in a time of violent conflicts.Conflicts between liberal democracies and au-tocratic regimes are being fiercely fought out in various regions.At the same time, we are fac-ing a digital-technological transformation, however its effects are difficult to predict, particu-larly due to the further advancements of artificial intelligence.Preserving the comprehensive knowledge of mankind and thus ensuring its existence and dissemination is a task belonging to libraries.But how can libraries really fulfill this responsibility?And if so, under what condi-tions?This paper will discuss thoughts on the role of libraries in a changing world.
