Performance Assessment of Colorful BIPV Facade in Norway

A demostration of colorful BIPV facade was installed in Porsgrunn, Norway, featuring an array of colors, including black, red, yellow, white, light gray, and dark gray. In comparison to the black module, the power output of the colorful modules exhibited a range of 15-45% reduction depending on the chosen color. Analyzing the one-year operational data spanning from February 1st, 2023, to January 31th, 2024, it becomes apparent that power production closely correlates with the specified module power, with minor fluctuations that may be attributed to temperature variations throughout the facade. Notably, significant temperature differences were observed from the bottom to the top of the facade, with the primary variations arising from irradiation and/or ventilation rather than the specific color chosen for the modules.
