Modern technologies significantly influence contemporary life and the broader realm of visual culture, including art. This article presents selected topics related to the values associated with visual art and offers an analysis and evaluation of these values from the perspective of students at two universities: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS) and Ignatianum University in Kraków (UIK). The research methods employed included a critical literature review and a survey. Based on the conducted empirical research, it can be concluded that UMCS and UIK students highly value visual art forms such as film, painting, and photography, considering them the most inspiring. The respondents most frequently encounter artworks in virtual environments, although they express a preference for traditional, classical forms. Among the values attributed to visual art, they most highly esteem creativity, aesthetics, artistry, emotional impact, and authenticity, while historical value is rated the lowest. The majority of the surveyed students view visual art as a useful educational tool, which emphasizes its role in fostering creativity and highlights the need for greater promotion of art within universities.
