Embedding Equity into Public Works Decision Making

The City of Redwood City (RWC) has committed itself to a focus on both equity and sustainability across its municipal operations. Translating this commitment into action is a key priority for the City’s Public Works Department (PW), which aims to build and maintain public infrastructure in addition to providing services related to water, waste, and more. In conjunction with a broader initiative from RWC to focus on establishing equity in their government processes, and at the request of the RWC PW, our team was tasked with developing an Equity Decision-Making Framework that recognizes and responds to inequities emerging from the department's decision-making process.
