La sombra como protagonista en la expresión artística

Shadows are part of the daily life of every human being, however, this concept is often forgotten or, on the contrary, when it is mentioned, it ends up being cataloged negatively. In this sense, the objectives of this reflection article are to change how the shadow is seen, and to explore how it can be adapted as a main artistic tool; this process is carried out through a systematization and analysis of the concept of shadow from its historical background in literature, art, and cinematography. This research was carried out from the trial-and-error technique, where through the execution of trials inspired by different artists, we sought to understand how the shadow behaved in different environments and situations, to determine that without using traditional elements in art [Brush, Acrylics, Pencils, etc.], innovative results can be obtained that change the perspective of how shadows are seen and used in art.
