IMPACT OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL) ON CABLE JOINTING SKILLS IN ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION: A STUDY IN TECHNICAL EDUCATION
This study investigates the effectiveness of a comprehensive instructional program aimed at enhancing participants' cable jointing skills, with a focus on general knowledge, technical skills, and safety practices. Pre-test results indicated that participants' skills were predominantly rated as "Poor," highlighting significant deficiencies in critical areas such as interpreting cable ratings, identifying common faults, and performing risk assessments. The post-test results, however, demonstrated substantial improvements, with all categories rated as "Excellent." These findings underscore the value of targeted educational interventions in fostering proficiency and technical competence, thereby advancing professional development in the field of cable jointing. The significant p-values across all categories confirm the program's effectiveness in equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks with high proficiency and safety standards. Based on these findings, the study recommends the development of comprehensive training programs, the integration of hands-on learning and advanced technologies, continuous professional development opportunities, industry collaboration, and enhanced safety practices to further advance the field of cable jointing.
