LEVEL OF LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES OF COLLEGE INSTRUCTORS IN SULU STATE COLLEGE, SULU PROVINCE
This study explored the extent of leadership competencies of college instructors at Sulu State College, Sulu Province, during the Academic Year 2024–2025. It aimed to determine their leadership competency levels in four areas: self, peers, job, and life. Using a descriptive-quantitative research design, the study employed a structured survey questionnaire distributed to 100 college instructors selected through purposive sampling. Data were statistically treated using weighted mean and ranking methods to assess competency levels across the domains. The findings revealed that the leadership competencies of the instructors were "Very Competent" in all domains, with the highest level in "About Self," followed by "About Life," "About Job," and lastly "About Peers." These results suggest that the instructors are self-aware, have strong values and decision-making in life contexts, perform effectively in job-related tasks, and maintain a moderate level of interaction with peers. The study concludes that the college instructors of Sulu State College possess strong and well-rounded leadership competencies, although disparities across domains suggest areas for further development. It is recommended that the institution continue implementing leadership enhancement programs that foster both personal and professional growth among faculty members.
