A Dual Band Sawtooth Corrugated Vivaldi Antenna Design for Communication Signal Enhancement and Emergency Applications
In this paper, a unique dual-band sawtooth cor-rugated Vivaldi antenna (SCVA) for enhancing communication signals and expanding emergency response capabilities is presented. With dual-band operation at 900 MHz (Band 8) and 1800 MHz (Band 3), the antenna provides a broader coverage area. Designing and simulating were done using CST Studio Suite Software. Two antennas were made and manually etched with ferrous chloride on 0.8 mm FR-4 substrate. Voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) and return loss (S11) values were validated by measurements made with a Vector Network Analyzer. Successful operation was demonstrated via integration with a repeater, and drive and speed tests confirmed this. The study's conclusions expand the field of signal-enhancing antenna technology and offer a practical means of improving communication and responding to emergencies.
