Fast synergetic simulation of soliton molecules in microresonators in the presence of noise

We introduce a synergetic simulation method that makes it possible to take time steps that are many orders of magnitude larger than is possible with conventional methods. We apply this method to a two-soliton molecule in a microresonator to carry out Monte Carlo simulations and determine when the molecule becomes unstable due to white noise. We validate the model by solving for the steady-state probability density using the Fokker-Planck equation.

Abstract

We introduce a synergetic simulation method that makes it possible to take time steps that are many orders of magnitude larger than is possible with conventional methods. We apply this method to a two-soliton molecule in a microresonator to carry out Monte Carlo simulations and determine when the molecule becomes unstable due to white noise. We validate the model by solving for the steady-state probability density using the Fokker-Planck equation.
