Abstract

Whereas cotton as an abundant natural cellulose has been\nwidely\nused for sustainable and skin-friendly textiles and clothes, developing\ncotton fabrics with smart functions that could respond to various\nstimuli is still eagerly desired while remaining a great challenge.\nHerein, smart multiresponsive cotton fabric with hierarchically copper\nnanowire interwoven MXene conductive networks that are seamlessly\nassembled along a 3D woven fabric template for efficient personal\nhealthcare and thermal comfort regulation is successfully developed.\nThe robust hierarchically interwoven conductive network was “glued”\nand protected by organic conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)\nalong a 3D interconnected fabric template to enhance interfacial adherent\nand environmental stability. Benefiting from the robust multiresponsive\nhierarchically interwoven conductive network, smart cotton fabric\nexhibits real-time response to various external stimuli (light/electrical/heat/temperature/stress),\nand the details of human activities can be accurately recognized and\nmonitored. Furthermore, the porous structure of 3D smart fabric induced\nstrong capillary force and confinement to phase change materials PEG,\nwhich exhibits a wide range of phase transition temperatures for efficient\nthermal comfort regulation. After further encapsulation with transparent\nfluorosilicone resin, the smart cotton fabric exhibits excellent self-cleaning\nperformance with water/oil repellent. The smart multiresponsive cotton\nfabrics hold great promise in next-generation wearable systems for\nefficient personal healthcare and thermal management.
