Optimization of Deactivation Time in Synthetic Inertia Control of Wind Turbine Using System Frequency Model Including Rotor Dynamics
In this paper, we introduce a new SFR model that incorporates rotor dynamics, which can determine the parameters for Step-wise Synthetic Inertia Control. This transfer function-based model can analyze the change of grid frequency and wind turbine rotor speed with additional active power resulting from SIC behavior. In addition, the model can be utilized to calculate the optimal deactivation time to reduce the secondary frequency drop and prevent rotor over-deceleration.
