Abstract

To address the concurrent needs of\nthe personal care industry for\nsimultaneous protection of active ingredients and enhancement of product\nfunctionality, this study employs a microfluidic technique to fabricate\nEstoGel M-based oleogel microcapsules capable of coencapsulating both\nhydrophilic and hydrophobic actives. The oleogels exhibit gel-like\ncharacteristics with a melting point of approximately 70 °C,\nensuring high encapsulation efficiency for hydrophilic and hydrophobic\nactives within aqueous environments. The oleogel microspheres encapsulating\nhydrophobic actives are prepared using microfluidic technology with\nrobust elasticity, which can be ruptured by a force of less than 15\nmN, contributing to a favorable tactile sensation upon application.\nThe structural integrity of these microspheres is preserved within\na temperature range up to 70 °C, indicating their thermodynamic\nstability. In addition, oleogel microcapsules are prepared using microfluidic\ntechnology, and their effectiveness in coencapsulating hydrophilic\nand hydrophobic active ingredients is successfully demonstrated, along\nwith excellent skin feel and temperature stability. The exceptional\ntactile properties of EstoGel M-based oleogel microcapsules offer\na promising strategy for creating innovative personal care products\nthat integrate high encapsulation efficiency with multifunctional\nattributes.
