Ternary Metal Nitride-Based\nMesoporous Materials Loaded\nwith Pt Nanoparticles for Electrochemical H2S Detection
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) monitoring is essential\ndue to\nits toxicity and importance as a signaling molecule. Here, we introduce\na Pt nanoparticle-loaded Mo0.33W0.67N sensor\nengineered for trace H2S detection featuring nanoparticle\nclusters with a 10–50 nm pore structure. It demonstrates exceptional\nselectivity and sensitivity, reaching 0.21 μA/ppm with a detection\nlimit as low as 50 ppb, and maintains robust stability over 3 months.\nNotably, it outperforms commercial Pt/C electrodes with enhanced sensing\ncapabilities attributed to the unique properties of ternary metal\nnitrides. By integrating the advantages of binary nitrides with multivalent\ncations and a specialized crystal structure, the Mo0.33W0.67N substrate achieves strong Pt interactions and improved\nsensor performance. This study highlights the potential of ternary\nmetal nitride-based sensors for high-precision long-term H2S monitoring in environmental applications.
