MoS2 Nanosheet Coated Carbon Nanofibers\nfor Sodium Storage
Finding\nsuitable anode materials with outstanding properties is\ncrucial for the practical application of sodium ion batteries (SIBs).\nAs a SIB anode, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has received\nwidespread attention with superior theoretical capacity (670 mA h\ng–1); nevertheless, its poor conductivity and larger\nvolume change limit its further application. In this paper, MoS2 nanosheet coated carbon nanofiber (CNF-MoS2) was\nprepared by electrospinning and vulcanization. The MoS2 nanosheets in the prepared sample are small, and there is no obvious\nagglomeration, which is advantageous for promoting the fast transfer\nof sodium ions and enhancing the electrochemistry properties of the\nelectrodes. Meanwhile, the presence of three-dimensional network carbon\nnanofibers can enhance the conductivity and mitigate the volume change\nof MoS2. Electrochemical kinetics tests reveal that capacitive\nbehavior predominates during the cycling process of the CNF-MoS2 electrode, resulting in good rate capability, with a reversible\nspecific capacity maintained at 334.2 mA h g–1 under\n1 A g–1 after 1000 cycles. This research lays a\nfoundation for the practical application of CNF-MoS2 in\nSIB anode materials.
