Overcoming Selectivity\nTrade-Offs in Alkene Azidodifluoroalkylation:\nAn Enlightening Synergistic Catalytic Approach
Recent advances in dual catalysis involving biomimetic\nconversion\nstrategies that utilize radical ligand transfer (RLT) often rely on\nlarge doses of precious metal additives. The role of these additives\nwithin the mechanism remains ambiguous, leading to complex reaction\nconditions, uncertain pathways, and increased costs. These challenges\ncomplicate the study of the reaction process and are accompanied by\npotential safety risks. To address these issues, azide salt was used\nas an alternative to TMSN3. This replacement not only avoids\nthe drawbacks associated with almost parallel research on alkene azidodifluoroalkylation\nbut also eliminates the need for ligands. Comparative analysis indicates\nthat existing biomimetic synergistic catalysis strategies require\nAg2CO3 additives to enhance selectivity in alkene\ndifunctionalization reactions, highlighting the superior simplicity,\nenvironmental friendliness, and operational ease of our developed\nsynergistic catalysis strategy. Furthermore, under the guidance of\nour proposed mechanism, an alkene azidosulfonation was designed, validating\nthe innovative and practical applicability of our synergistic catalysis\napproach.
