Rh(III)-Catalyzed\nC(sp3)–H Thiolation\nof 8‑Methylquinolines Promoted by Benzoic Anhydride

Herein,\nwe developed a ligand-promoted Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp3)–H\nthiolation of 8-methylquinolines. The effect of\nligands on improving the activity of the catalytic centers has been\nstudied in detail and proven to be significant. Various substituents\nare well tolerated under this reaction condition to provide potential\nprecursors for organic synthesis. The mechanistic study suggests that\nthe reaction may proceed through a five-membered rhodacycle intermediate\nvia thiolation twice.
