Investigating treatment approaches for immunothrombosis through an examination of its intricate mechanisms
Immunothrombosis refers to the processes by which the coagulation and immune systems are coactivated in the form of an aberrant and dangerous positive feedback loop. This paper highlights the bidirectional relationship between both systems in order to underline the concepts behind imbalances that may appear and result in complications. Because of its many triggers and effects throughout the body, designing treatments that do not compromise the wrong pathway - or the whole system - proves to be challenging. Through an examination of current treatment methods and the physiology of immunothrombosis, we investigate its bidirectional nature during the process of diagnosing and treating patients. On this ground, we illustrate a possible flowchart for diagnosis and a general checklist to aid in testing the safety and efficacy of new approaches.
