BIOREGULATORY CORRECTION IN THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF ACUTE PURULENT PERIOSTITIS OF THE LOWER JAW. CLINICAL CASE
Odontogenic inflammatory diseases occupy a significant place among the pathologies of the maxillofacial area, reaching up to 75% of cases. They often aggravate the course of major dental diseases, especially in patients with chronic somatic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Acute purulent periostitis is one of the most common inflammatory processes that requires an integrated approach to treatment. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the complex treatment of acute purulent odontogenic periostitis of the mandible using bioregulatory drugs Traumel C and Lymphomiosot N.Materials and methods: We describe the clinical case of a 72-year-old female patient with acute purulent periostitis of the mandible in the setting of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The treatment included surgical intervention (tooth extraction, periostotomy, drainage), as well as injection of bioregulatory medications in the postoperative period. Results: The use of bioregulatory therapy contributed to a rapid relief of pain, edema and accelerated healing without the development of complications. There was an improvement in local and overall recovery rates, indicating a positive effect of the medications on the inflammatory process, drainage of purulent exudate and reparative processes. Conclusions: The use of bioregulatory medications in the complex treatment of acute purulent odontogenic processes can increase the effectiveness of therapy, help reduce the healing time and minimize the risk of complications. However, further studies are needed to confirm the effectiveness of this approach.
