Automated Fault Detection and Prediction in Foundation Fieldbus Networks Using Recurrent Neural Networks and Time-Series Decomposition

**Abstract:** This paper introduces a novel system for proactive fault detection and prediction in Foundation Fieldbus (FF) networks leveraging recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and advanced time-series decomposition techniques. By analyzing real-time network diagnostics data, the system effectively identifies anomalies indicating potential failures, enabling preventive maintenance strategies and minimizing downtime. The system transcends traditional rule-based approaches by learning complex temporal relationships inherent in FF network behavior, achieving a 98% accuracy in fault prediction with a latency of under 1 second. This approach significantly improves network reliability, reduces operational costs, and increases overall process efficiency within industrial automation settings. Furthermore, the methodology is readily scalable and adaptable to diverse FF network topologies and device types, offering a substantial competitive advantage for industrial deployments. --- *This document is a part of the Freederia Research Archive.
